Trish Choate
Trish Choate has ridden shotgun in a fire engine, blogged what might have been the world's biggest custody hearing (think Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and El Dorado, Texas) and once uncovered a scandal involving a school superintendent who went to Las Vegas, Nev., instead of an education conference in another state. She always wanted to be a writer and sure writes plenty in her job in the nation's capital.
She has been a journalist about 14 years and in her spare time likes to backpack eight or 10 miles a day, practice bikram yoga in a room heated to 105 degrees with 40 percent humidity and grow tomatoes, peppers, rosemary, lemon verbena, oregano and more on the balcony. She graduated from Midwestern State University, the best little college in Texas. Her degrees are in English language and literature, and she hopes she hasn't done too much damage to those subjects. She has one daughter who also lives in D.C.
